Reporting to the Plant Manager, the HR Manager will be responsible for all facility recruitment, employee training, health/retirement benefit programs, workforce development, associate safety programs, compensation, wellness, and costing. Resource to members of facility management to assist in the development of departmental supervisors and hourly staff members.

 

  • Monitors data integrity and case management progress for disability and workers compensation. 
  • Coordinates and manages all aspects of hourly associate benefit programs at the facility. 
  • Coordinates enrollment updates and program changes for hourly and salary employees. 
  • Coordinates and manages all aspects of the 401K program at the facility level. 
  • Ensure cases and returns to work strategies are managed within the guidelines of FMLA, ADA, and EEOC. 
  • Directly responsible for the administration of the facility recruitment and training process.  
  • Ensures employee status changes, promotions, compensation and other opportunity(s) are achieved in a manner consistent with Corporate and EEOC requirements. 
  • Develops implements and updates all facility training programs that include safety, GMP, food safety, security, work rules, and DOL topics such as harassment, ADA, and workplace violence. 
  • Promote and foster programs that facilitate improvement processes and employee well being. 
  • Provide support and counsel to facility supervision for employee disputes, performance, discipline and coaching, etc. 
  • In conjunction with other facility department heads, prepare those aspects of the facility operating budget related to the HR department and labor. 
  • Prepares material(s) and provides facility representation for unemployment, Division of Human Rights, and disability and workers compensation hearings. Assist company counsel on these matters as requested. 
  • Responsible for all associate personnel, medical, and banking information and the nature by which it is used internally and may be disseminated to outside concerns. 
  • Responds to all requests for information from internal and external concerns for exempt staff. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem solving ability
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Experience/Education:

  • Five years’ experience in the food industry, specializing in fresh vegetable production, frozen vegetable repack, and distribution. Experience with Migrant Labor Laws both Federal and State preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources / Business or other related field. Professional HR Certifications preferred
