This role is a position that requires work exposure in multiple areas in our refrigerated production environment.  The candidate of this position must be self-motivated, problem solver with excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. The QA Lead (Coordinator) is responsible for the training of new QA hires and current QA associates.  He/she will assist QA Team Lead in auditing QA and Production Quality / Food Safety related activities; review of OLQC and related activities validating compliance with customer requirements (Standard Operating Procedures and Specifications).  QA Lead will be heavily involved in daily activities to help achieve quality, safety, food safety and productivity goals through the effective use of the resources. 

What you will Do:

  • Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, SQF Regulatory Requirements, HACCP & Sanitation guidelines and processes.

  • Review and sign CCP documentation, Audits CCP and CQP records for compliance with Food Safety and Quality Plans.

  • Assists in the investigation of quality problems and foreign objects and recommending solutions for the prevention of recurrences.

  • Reviews prints and files CCP1 related graphs for wash water. Audits and monitors critical control records and process control points for compliance to product quality, food safety requirements

  • Confirms compliance with Weights by auditing MAV database Conduct Packaging Integrity and labeling audits (as needed)

  • Develops and trains fellow associates in the team and production departments coaching and training on assigned tasks, policies and procedures. 

  • Assists in product withdrawal tracing product information using electronic and manual systems







 

  • Maintains IPPs, SIRPIs, DIPIs and all pertinent certifications from suppliers for the Organic Program for all facilities

  • Maintains daily equipment calibration database, administers QA Microbiology Database for inspections, ATP Database, data entry, shelf life, leak tests, sanitation KPIs, QMS documents (SOPs and Forms).

  • Maintains all pertinent documents for Gluten Free and Non-GMO certifications from suppliers for the NSF Non-GMO GF Program for all facilities.

  • Analyses shelf life data and issues reports as needed, Submits Monthly KPI to McDonald’s, Yum (CFS), Yum, Rubio’s and El Pollo Loco.

  • Renews documentation as needed and corresponds with Recertification Audits and QA in addition to new products and label revision and generates documentation needed for Organic Recertification Audits.

  • Converts SOPs and Forms to new format and uploads on QMS (Corporate Quality Management Systems Site).

  • Provides access to QA databases to new candidates and coordinates with IT to authorize access to JDE, DSI, and ensures that outlook profile and user profile are created.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What you will Need:

  • B.S In Food Science related fields such as (microbiology, chemistry, food technology, biology) an/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance position in the food industry.

  • Reading, Writing, Speaking English.

  • Ability to communicate (verbally & in writing) to complete required documentation.

  • Comprehension of basic math and Computer Proficiency (Microsoft Office (access databases, Excel, Word), statistical process software, etc.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules and in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to be crossed trained & multi-task in multiple positions.

  • Ability to work unsupervised, ability to understand plant KPI’s (production, quality & safety).

  • HACCP Certified

  • Must have working knowledge on USDA-FSIS, SQF, and Organic guidelines.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
