The Director of Finance for Manufacturing Operations will be a strategic business partner to Plant Operations and Supply Chain leaders across Bonduelle’s four manufacturing sites in the U.S. They are the cost champion and finance leader regarding all aspects of manufacturing. This position oversees two Finance Managers who, in turn, lead four Plant Controllers and ten Finance Associates. They are responsible for the development and career success of all manufacturing finance personnel.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Collaborating directly with plant operations and functional leadership to exceed the organization’s financial commitments.
  • Developing and leading processes designed to drive daily profitability across manufacturing sites.
  • Creating and directing robust change initiatives to create cohesion amongst all finance operations.
  • Build and consolidate detailed annual budgets for all plants.
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and full-year estimates that incorporate known and perceived headwinds and tailwinds.
  • Provide insights into how direct labor, plant overhead, raw, packaging and semi-finished goods yields and performance affect the P&L.
  • Identify and validate cost reduction initiatives including modeling and gross-to-net actualization for CapEx-enabled and continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead corporate finance team and drive financial close as needed.
  • Evaluate and maintain internal controls to protect inventory accuracy; document policies and procedures and educate employees.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and present financial reporting and analysis in an accurate and timely manner to internal clients: Plant Managers, Vice President, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance Director and Corporate Services.
  • Perform monthly variance review of P&L results for P&Ls.
  • Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
  • Lead annual Site and Functional Budget process including development/analysis of budget targets, developing, communicating and driving the budget timeline, creating budget templates, creating/maintaining budget roll-up files, preparing budget deliverables for Site Management and BU Leadership Team.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal control documentation in accordance with the Financial Administrative Manual (FAM).
  • Support the auditors and prepare the financial year-end; collaborate on internal audits.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with 10-15 years progressive industry experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with 5-10 years of supervisory experience or similar experience through project leadership.
  • Experience with financial system implementation and restructuring processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Keen ability to integrate broader strategic objectives in day-to-day strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all management levels from the manufacturing floor to C-Suite.
  • Experience in consumer goods/ fresh manufacturing and supply chain required.
  • Ability to develop, mentor, and coach direct and indirect teams.
  • Ability to challenge and influence up and down the organization.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification highly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of data management systems (e.g., Excel)
  • 5+ years in the Food or FMCG industries
  • Fresh Food experience is highly preferred.
