As a Senior Category Analyst, a deep understanding of Category Management, data analytics, and a proven ability to turn insights into action are crucial to the success of a person in this role.
This position requires a customer focus, the ability to build strong relationships internally, cross-functionally, and externally. The Individual must possess critical and analytical skills that continuously ensure data integrity and maintain high standards while driving best-in-class solutions. Development and deployment of scorecards, planogram recommendations, category reviews, assortment tools, and new item trackers as well as helping to guide the team on new areas of opportunities will be critical for this role. 

 

A successful candidate will be self-motivated, thrive in a team environment, ability to deal with a fast-paced complex environment as well as ambiguity.

 

Position Responsibilities:
•    Provide analytical insights for the produce category for BFA to identify trends and suggest strategies to maximize profitable sales growth.
•    Partner closely with all internal parties to understand the latest insights and provide recommendations on category management strategic opportunities.
•    Partner closely with Marketing to drive innovation budgets, planning, and targets
•    Drive applicable insights with shelf design and item assortment recommendations
•    Development and deployment of customer scorecards
•    Manage 3rd party data provider (Spins/IRI) ensuring data integrity
•    Development and maintenance of Customer Category Reviews
•    Creation of New Item Trackers, benchmarking, and progress reports
•    Maintain an awareness of customers' current activities such as promotions, new item launches, discontinued products, new product development, price changes, etc., and take necessary actions to execute the plans.
•    Directly accountable for special projects assigned by the manager as they correlate to career development.
•    Strong analytical skills that translate to actionable insights to further grow and develop the packaged salad category 
•    Ability to mine customer data to identify the category, segment, and brand trend opportunities 
•    Assist in the development of internal/external presentations to enhance selling opportunities 
•    Ability to effectively and efficiently present ideas in front of customer leadership/internal leadership

 

Position Requirements:
•    BA Degree
•    Minimum 3-4 years experience in a similar position (preferably perishable/grocery)
•    In-depth understanding of Category Management analytics, tools & process
•    Expert knowledge of Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI, Spectra, Panel Data)
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
•    Working knowledge of Google Apps (Gmail/slides/sheets)
•    Consistently exhibits the aptitude to maintain focus while managing workload efficiently and effectively in an ever-changing environment.
•    Ability to plan and execute assignments to completion with minimal supervision
•    Self-Improving allowing for solid team development
•    Demonstrate skills for positive conflict management
•    Problem-solving skills and ability to use independent discretion for decision-making.
•    Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
•    Strong Analytical skills – able to quickly identify trends, opportunities, and business solutions.
•    Experience translating retailer POS and creating action plans
•    Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
•    Strong organizational and follow up skills
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

 

Pay Range: $75,000 to 95,000
