2nd shift Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform all facility related maintenance tasks in a frozen food environment within the guidelines of company policies and procedures while meeting or exceeding stardars set for safety, quality and efficiency.  Suppor and actively engages in all safety and cGMP procedures and rules.


Essential Functions

  • Actively participate and promote plant safety programs.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all assigned maintenance duties.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety, and set the proper example at all times.
  • Assist with the implementation and installation of capital improvement projects.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all maintenance related reporting and paperwork.
  • Responsible to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, Facility Security, Food Quality, and Facility work rules for all activities within the maintenance operation. 
  • In collaboration with Packaging and Warehouse Supervisors; participate in the necessary direction to insure the packaging of a consistent quality product that is delivered on time and within budgeted costs.
  • Provide recommendations on ways to improve line efficiency through the use of new equipment, procedures or techniques. Monitor maintenance processes to eliminate unnecessary departmental downtime.
  • Help to produce the highest quality of finished product
  • Adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety
  • Report any food safety, health & safety, quality issues and initiate action, as necessary.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to understand Automated Equipment operation, technical manuals, parts breakdowns and electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot Electrical and Mechanical systems utilizing equipment documentation, test equipment and hand tools
  • Must be able to read and write the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend Facility blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Must demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Preferred but not required experience/qualifications:
    • Steel/ Stainless Steel Welding
    • Experience with AB/ELAU PLC systems
    • Familiarity Lenze and AB Powerflex Variable Frequency Drives
    • Experience with Hayssen Product baggers, FALLAS automated Drop Packers, FALLAS Case Erectors, and FANUC pick-in-place Palletizers
    • Familiarity with CMMS (EAM) and the ability to log all Preventative Maintenance work orders.
    • Experience with Conveyor systems (HYTROL)
