BFA is seeking a National Manager for Supply Chain and Projects to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment.  They are responsible for optimizing the supply chain process.  Ideal candidates will obtain a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a food manufacturing facility.  This is a great opportunity to join a growing company with a great culture and management team that believes in building and maintaining a healthy work/life balance. The position offers high visibility and professional growth opportunities for a candidate who thrives on creating, implementing, and sustaining new processes in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

 

This individual will develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues, production location decisions, etc. in support of business growth. They support business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns. They will monitor key performance indicators, analyzes cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Managing cross-functional projects involving:  planning, scheduling, procurement, warehousing, transportation, forecasting, operations, receiving, marketing

• Self-generating continuous improvement projects focused on optimization

• Take leadership and collaborate with other functions to improve processes

• Establish an effective and efficient projects team

• Optimize sourcing and distribution to minimize costs and maximize service levels

• Conducting carrier negotiations and RFPs to improve carrier rates, service, and network

• Sets plans with plants and inventory control to tightly manage and control inventory to achieve (annual) targets

• Develops, executes, and modifies supply chain product and process flows

• Administering surplus obsolete, engineering changes, cancellation activities, projected usage and other inventory planning/and reduction activities

• Recommending improvement to inventory system where errors could affect the replenishment systems, financial position, credibility, or overall operation

• Updating inventory records, and controls inventory accuracy and controls inventory levels by changing reorder points and par levels to meet changing demands

• Troubleshooting severe inventory inaccuracies

• Lead and motivate team to continuously improve performance

• Preparing special reports, statistics and graphs used to analyze data

• Supporting supervisor, vendors and staff to resolve any problems and/or concerns

• Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

• BS in Business, Operations, or Logistics or equivalent experience

• 7+ years’ work experience in supply chain, distribution management, planning/inventory control, procurement, transportation experience

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while balancing multiple projects and competing priorities

• Ability to demonstrate resilience, a sense of urgency and leadership/ownership

• Team management expertise

• Strong project expertise

• Proven track record of results

• Ability to quickly grasp complex supply chain issues and drive them to solution

• Must have excellent Excel/PowerPoint skills

• Excellent negotiation skills required

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

• Excellent communication skills both written and spoken

• Position requires heavy travel throughout 4 plant locations
