Position Summary:
The Sr Manager, Category and Revenue Growth Management is responsible for identifying and leveraging consumer and customer data to develop and execute short and long term business plans that shape the strategic roadmap for our future growth while determining strategies that can effectively be used as a lever to grow revenue and improve profit for the organization. You will play a key role in helping drive sales execution excellence, optimizing price and promotion guidance and identifying category opportunities to drive volume and share gains for our US retail channel business . From product launches to promotional strategies, and competitive and category reviews, your guidance and ability to create compelling, fact-based selling stories will be instrumental in achieving the company’s financial goals, while supporting our corporate social responsibility and B Corp certification ambitions. The ideal candidate for this position must be a self-motivated, highly analytical, strategic, creative thinker and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop the overall category and channel strategies to guide the company’s product/portfolio development
- Analyze data and insights to determine underlying consumer or industry trends
- Perform customer segmentation to determine how to grow both revenue and profitability by managing our customer mix (current and prospective customers)
- Conduct pricing and promotional analysis to identify optimal base and promoted price strategies
- Provide trade promotion guidance, determine KPIs, and review program effectives, performance and ROI
- Utilize price/pack architecture to optimize pricing by channel and customer
- Prepare and present selling decks to help drive product distribution and assortment optimization
- Prepare Category Reviews with tangible recommendations to drive sales and profitability at the segment, brand and item levels
- Perform competitive analysis to identify offensive and defensive strategies to protect and grow market share (channel and customer level)
- Identify “white space” opportunities to grow our business based on portfolio and assortment offerings in the current and adjacent categories and customers
- Report monthly segment performance to management based on syndicated and panel data
- Work with Sales to create customer business plans that deliver budgeted sales and profitability
- Work with Marketing to develop go to market plans for new product launches and line extensions
- Develop new product volume and distribution assumptions and track item performance in market post launch
- Present merchandising recommendations (placement, space to sales/fair share analysis, etc.) to drive gains in velocity and distribution
- Develop and execute customer marketing support plans, with input from Sales and the custome.
- Travel and present to customer meetings, as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
- 5+ years of experience in food and beverage category management within the CPG industry
- In-depth understanding of category management analytics, tools & process
- Thorough understanding of the US retail channel and customers, trade promotions and pricing strategies
- Expert knowledge of Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI/SPINS, Panel Data)
- Ability to create and deliver clear and compelling presentations to multiple audiences/levels both at key customers and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrate strong problem solving, project management and communication skills
- Ability to translate data results/findings into meaningful and actionable insights
- Strong business acumen demonstrated through a solid understanding of sales and profit drivers
- Thorough understanding and use of insights to drive fact-based decision making and selling propositions
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written communications) to foster clear understanding and direction both internally and externally
- Strong financial skills and knowledge of sales and marketing principles
- A proven track record of results with a bias for action
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, competing tasks
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization

- 10-15% travel required
Salary: 120,000 -145,000
