This position is responsible for operating the Maintenance Department Spare Parts room. This includes the use of the computerized maintenance department work order system. This interfaces with the purchasing function and tool crib inventory. The position requires constant and effective communication within and outside of the department to keep key personnel informed. The position is also responsible for supporting and accomplishing goals and objectives using the team management approach by working closely with other departments, particularly the operations departments.


Position Demands

  • Requires working knowledge of computerized maintenance programs.
  • Must be able to develop reports form the computerized work order system
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have filing and general office skills
  • Must be able to take initiative in resolving problems.
  • Must have working knowledge of personal computer spreadsheet, database, and word processing software programs.
  • Must be able to properly receive parts and materials as specified in the "Tool Crib Receiving Procedures" which includes proper storing.
  • Must submit material requisition to replenish inventory and special orders.
  • Must be able to Issues spare and replacement parts, equipment, and expendable items used in repair or maintenance shop.
  • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
  • Must have working knowledge of OSHA, FDA and GMP requirements as they pertain to maintenance activities at a food processing facility.
  • Must be able to communicates effectively with all Maintenance Supervisors and Mechanic
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must be able to complete training and become forklift certified
