Position Summary:
The Transportation Supervisor role is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the transportation department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, freight, and personnel.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee coordinators and dispatchers within the transportation department. Cover for other transportation team members as needed.
  • Manage carrier routing, procure trucks, ensure delivery appointments are scheduled timely, and
  • manage outside carrier's performance. Oversee and administer driver electronic logs.
  • Communicates company policies, procedures changes, and requirements with carriers. Oversee and assign driver and carrier assignments.
  • Monitor and track status of delivery. Monitor load temperatures and weight of trucks for delivery.
  • Manage freight rates in JDE system to ensure accuracy.
  • Track carrier performance including OTD. Generate monthly carrier KPI reports. Oversee preparation of weekly logistics reports for management.
  • Attend meetings with operations, logistics teams, and safety teams as needed.
  • Communicate timely with customer service on all service issues.
  • Communicate internally on any trucking related issues.
  • Support Transportation Manager in the basic negotiation and rate comparison for outside carriers.
  • Develop and conduct effective training programs, to include but not limited to, safety.
  • Support our Corporate Social Responsibility BFA objectives and help drive progress against our 2025 CSR goals and B Corp certification requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years' experience in transportation
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong communication skills (oral, presentation, and written communications) to foster clear understanding and direction both internally and externally
  • Ability to succeed in unstructured, fast-paced  environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization
  • A proven track record of results with a bias for action
  • A passion for learning and a craving to work in a fast paced culture to drive real action

 

Pay Range: $82,000 to $85,000
