Production Clerk 2 (Label Clerk)-Clamshell 1st shift

Position Summary:

This role is a key position within our manufacturing plants and supports our production team leads as they drive production to the highest safety, quality and efficiency standards.  This position is exposed to multiple refrigerated areas within production.  This role is responsible for monitoring proper rotation of labels and printing sleeves. 

What you will Do:

• Follow GMP/PPE, Safety guidelines

• Follow & maintain HACCP & Sanitation guidelines & processes

• Understand yield standards

• Work safely around moving equipment & conveyors in wet environment

• Responsible for keeping accurate inventory of production labels.

• Schedule adherence

• Ability to be crossed trained & multitask in multiple positions

• Maintain safe work environment

• Work in a fast paced environment

• Comply with SQF Regulatory Programs (USDA)

• Perform work order closing activities on a daily basis

• Report all accidents and safety concerns to Department Leadership immediately 

• Manage FIFO inventory and process 

• Responsible for restocking shelves/racks 

• Keep a running inventory segregated by department.

• Organize and stock cart for label fabricator 

• Confirm correct label by verify against spec and scanning label using DSI script    

• Monitor inventory levels; request parts that have reached reorder point.

• Run the Alpha Jet based on priorities from warehouse     

• Enforce scanning of labels

• Supports Foreign Object Preventative Program

• Ensure compliance to product specifications

• Reports Food Safety/Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

• Reports any concerns issues pertaining to Food Security to leadership staff                                                                                                                                                                 

• Maintains a clean work area at all times

• Follow and enforce the 5S Methodology including maintaining tools and equipment as defined by the 5S marking.

• Perform other duties as needed.

What you will Need:

• Ability to read, write and speak English preferred

• Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.

• Comprehension of basic math

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, JDE/DSI/RPDMS)

• DSI Scanner

• Ability to multi-task

• Ability to pay close attention to detail

• Ability to understand plant KPI’s (production, quality & safety)

• GED/High School Diploma.

Physical Work Environment / Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to perform repetitive movements (i.e., bending and lifting).  The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

• Ability to move about within a fast paced environment in/outside facility, and traverse between maintenance shop & production floor.

• Ability to position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

• Ability to frequently move, push, or carry items up to 50lbs

• Exposed to cold & wet environment 34 degrees. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions

• Must be able to exchange accurate information through frequent communications within all levels of the organization

• Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, and assess surroundings
